| The Conception Adventure is an unique adventure taking place in the vast sand sea of the Namib Desert south of Walvis Bay The trail is conducted over 3 days/2 nights - starting at the Homeb campsite on the banks of the Kuiseb River in the Namib Naukluft Park. From Homeb the trail leads through the "Homeb plains" a colourful landscape of red sand dunes separated by grassy plains. It ends up in a "slide" back into the dry Kuiseb River | ||

| The Kuiseb canyon offers unique scenery in this area with the southern bank formed by massive red sand dunes, the northern bank pitch black rock formations and in the riverbed massive trees and the dry sand bed creates a kaleidoscope in green and white. The night is spend at Lauberville a former police training camp currently being renovated by the Topnaar Community. |

From
Lauberville the course is due South into the "sand sea". On the way to Sandwich
Harbour massive dunes are negotiated and once again ever changing dunes of beautiful
landscapes and scenes are experienced. Driver skills are improving as the dunes offers
more and more challenges.

| The night is spend under the desert sky camping close to Sandwich Harbour and the sea. | ||
| From the camp the route leads to a viewpoint on the dunes overlooking Sandwich Harbour giving the participant a "birds eye view" over the "harbour". From Sandwich Harbour the route runs north parallel along the beach until the boundary of the Sandwich Harbour sanctuary is reached. Driving on the beach from here on concludes the Topnaar 4x4 trail ending in Walvis Bay. |

Alternatively an extra day can be included to visit Conception bay with its rich bird life, seal colonies and shipwrecks. During the turn of the previous century (1890 - ) diamond mining were conducted in this area and ruins of the "Customs office", "Police station", telegraph line and railway can still be seen today. | |
